speak out project
So difficult to say, even harder to hear
Survivors who have been through our counselling service are able to join the Speak Out group. This is a group for survivors who feel strongly that they would like to help communities understand the impact that sexual violence has by sharing their stories. They both inspire others to step forward as well as gain a sense of empowerment in the process of telling their stories. We are often approached by the media and researchers for interviews and recently did a series of radio interviews with three of our current Speak Out members using their stories as powerful radio adverts.
These radio ads feature actual survivors, who would like to inform women that if they have no one to speak to, they can speak to a Rape Crisis counsellor through a dedicated 24 hour helpline.
