Support Rape Crisis by participating in one of our three training courses and becoming a volunteer.
We offer a vigorous and compelling counselling course for individuals wanting to train as volunteer rape counsellors. The training will enable you to provide face to face counselling to survivors of rape, their family members as well as telephonic counselling.
Community Educator Course
Become a community educator to conduct workshops and talks in our communities. This training is aimed at challenging the myths and stereotypes about rape as well as building a culture of consent in South Africa.
Advocacy Volunteer Course
Become an advocacy volunteer to support survivors of sexual violence in the criminal justice system.
Requirements for volunteering:
18 years +
Commit to a minimum of 8 hours of your time per month
Commit a period of one year once graduated to do Facilitation
Commit to attend monthly meetings
Willing to work directly with and engage with community members in hosting workshops, giving talks and doing information stalls when required
A 6 month probation/practical period is later required for you to officially become a member of our counselling and training and development team.
